TIPS TO ACTIVITES
  1. Be honest with yourself. If you’re not a morning person, don’t force the issue and try to participate at a time when you simply don’t feel like it.
  2. For Dads who are time-challenged, like single, weekend Dads, remind yourself that you’re not an amusement park.
  3. Get your Kids involved in normal routines, like cleaning the garage. Give them a small job.
  4. Explore your community. Money is always an issue. There are more free programs being developed every year, which are designed for Dads and Kids.
  5. Remember, eating together is an activity.
TIPS TO TRAVEL
  1. Pack less.
  2. Make a packing list for each person.
  3. Use containers and zip-type bags for small things.
  4. Pack a small emergency bag with clean underwear and socks.
  5. If you’re travelling with small Kids, go to the dollar store and buy a bag full of items including toys and games. Every 30 minutes or so, pull out a new item. You can keep them engaged for long periods of time this way. Another trick is to dip into their toy boxes and file unused toys for future trips. Everything old is new again
HALLOWEEN OLYMPICS
  1. SNAKES & WORMS. Cook a bowl full of strand noodles: spaghetti, angel hair, and vermicelli. Fill a plastic box with the noodles. Add some dishwashing liquid to give it a slimy feel. Participants must put their hands in the bowl and guess what it is.
  2. DEAD ANIMAL. Fill a small balloon with water (not too full) and tie it off. Wrap a feather duster around it and place it in a shoebox. Participants must put their hands in the box and guess what it is. To add some drama to the event, have someone stand nearby with a stick. When the person touches the furry thing, poke the furry animal to make it move.
  3. EYEBALLS. Fill a bowl with pearl onions and dishwashing liquid. Participants must put their hands in the bowl and guess what it is.
  4. TOADS. Fill a bowl with small baby pickles. Take some strands cut from elastic bands and push one end of the strand into one end of the pickle. Add a couple of toothpicks (little bones). Participants must put their hands in and guess what it is.

WEAPONS OF MESS DESTRUCTION
If you’re using store-bought products, read the labels carefully. When using solvents, make sure you keep the area you’re working in well ventilated. In general, it is better to blot than rub. Don’t use metal spoons or metal containers with bleaches. If you want to avoid getting a ring around a stain, lightly feather out the solution or solvent you’re using at the edges. For a larger stain, test a small area first to make sure your solution works. Some stains will require the services of professionals. If you don't know what you are doing don't experiment.
